Dallas Loft Living Right
We had the unique opportunity to transform former office space in the heart of the Dallas Design District into a cutting-edge, fully automated modern home. Every aspect of this residence required custom solutions, blending high-performance technology with elegant design to create a seamless, luxury living experience.
This transformation showcases how Ed Kellum delivers not just high-end technology, but custom-engineered solutions that enhance luxury living. From bespoke entertainment systems to seamless automation, this Dallas Design District home stands as a testament to our innovation and craftsmanship.
We seamlessly integrated smart home automation, allowing effortless control of lighting, climate, and security with just a touch or voice command. This home is chalked full of our "hidden gems" installations including a retractable projector mount, a custom swinging television mount in the master bedroom, a in-mirror television and smart control in the bathroom and a completely custom golf simulator. The primary feature of the outdoor living space is the outdoor movie theater featuring a projector utilizing a garden wall for the projector screen. This home is the perfect blend of cutting-edge and well-designed comfort.
The Solution
A state-of-the-art home entertainment space was designed with Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Series speakers, immersive Dolby Atmos sound, 4K OLED and plush seating. Custom cabinetry was built around the speakers and television offering the ultimate viewing experience while blending effortlessly into the home’s refined aesthetic.
The bedroom features a custom James Loudspeaker soundbar, tailored specifically for this space to provide crystal-clear audio. Additionally, the TV is mounted on a Snap AV articulating mount, offering flexibility for the perfect viewing angle.
For the outdoor living space, we incorporated an Epson Pro Series Projector, enclosed in a custom weatherproof housing. This enclosure protects the projector from the elements while an advanced ventilation system prevents overheating—especially critical during the Texas summer heat. Whole-Home Automation with Crestron - At the core of this modern home is a fully integrated Crestron control system, allowing seamless control of shades, lighting, audio/video, security and garage.
The finished home was a model of modern luxury and unique innovations. The sound, the vibrant video, the lighting schemes all provided a art gallery atmosphere that brings a fun, playful energy to the space.
