We’re back with a brand new Kellum Original Recipe. This week we hit the sweet side of Game Day snack favorites. Our new recipe is a great for kids and adults alike. You may even make this during the State Fair – FRIED COOKIE DOUGH FOOTBALLS!

FRIED COOKIE DOUGH FOOTBALLS

Ingredients:

  • Your favorite Cookie Dough
  • Your Favorite Icing

 

Batter:

  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

For dipping:

  • ½ cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

For Frying:

  • 4-5 cups vegetable oil, for frying

 

Directions:

•   Shape cookie dough into smooth round footballs.

•   Freeze cookie dough footballs for 20 minutes.

•   For the batter, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl.

•   In a separate small bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil and vanilla.

•   Add together batter and dry ingredients. Whisk until thin and smooth.

•   Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan to 375°F.

•   Remove the cookie dough from the freezer.

•   Place ½ cup flour in a small bowl.

•   Roll each ball of cookie dough in the flour and dip in the batter.

•   Transfer to the hot oil for frying using a fork.

•   Fry each ball of dough for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crisp on the outside.

•   Remove to a paper towel.

•   Apply icing in shape of football laces.

•   Serve and enjoy!
